Book: Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert

Leaves form the shapes of lots of different animals.

Action Rhyme: The Leaves of The Trees
Sung to: “The Wheels on the Bus” give children orange and red leaves.

The leaves of the trees turn orange and red,
Orange and red,
Orange and red.
The leaves of the trees turn orange and red.
All through the town.

The leaves of the trees come twirling down,
Twirling down,
Twirling down.
The leaves of the trees come twirling down.
All though the town.

The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish;
Swish, swish, swish;
Swish, swish, swish.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish.
All through the town.

Book: A Pair of Socks by Lois Elhert

Matching socks is fun!

Felt Board:  Matching Socks
Give one sock of a pair to each child. Call the children up to add their sock to make a pair.

I have two feet on which I walk,
But I can only find one sock!
Here’s a Sock I like to wear,
But I need a matching pair.
Bring one up so we can see,
If it matches perfectly!

Wiggles Song

Book: Rrralph by Lois Ehlert

Ralph is one noisy dog!

Action Game: Pretend Puppy Simon Says
Simon says with puppy commands like:
Wag your tail.
Sit.
Beg.
Scratch.

Closing Song

Craft: Leaf rubbing. Take the labels off the crayons for fall colors like red, yellow and orange.
We had rubbing plates do do this craft, but you can also use natural leaves. For little ones stick them to paper so they don’t slide so much.
