Book: In The Tall Tall Grass  by Denise Flemming

A girl brings some bugs inside, despite the concern of her family.

Feltboard:  Butterflies Colors
Pass out colored butterflies to the kids to bring up as their color is called.

The first to come to the garden bed
Is a lovely butterfly of brilliant RED.
Then in comes another and that makes two.
Fly right in, my friend of BLUE.
“The garden is fine, the best I’ve seen,”
says the butterfly of softest GREEN.
Our garden needs a sunny fellow,
Fly on in, butterfly with wings of YELLOW.
Little friend of PURPLE, fly in too.
The garden is waiting for a color like you.
ORANGE, orange, you’re waited so long.
Fly right in, where you belong.
Butterflies, butterflies, you’re such a sight!
Flying together – what a delight!

Active Song: Ain’t No Bugs On Me sung by Jerry Garcia & David Grisman

Chorus
Oh, there ain’t no bugs on me
There ain’t no bugs on me
There may be bugs on some of you mugs
But there ain’t no bugs on me

Well, the Juney bug comes in the month of June
The lightning bug comes in May
Bedbug comes just any old time
But they’re not going to stay

Chorus

Well, a bullfrog sittin’ on a lily pad
Looking up at the sky
The lily pad broke and the frog fell in
He got water all in his eyeball

Chorus

Get away, you horsefly

Mosquito, he fly high
Mosquito, he fly low
If old mosquito lands on me
Well, he ain’t a gonna fly no mo’

Chorus

A peanut sittin’ on a railroad track
His heart was all a flutter
Along come a choo-choo on the track
Toot-toot, peanut butter

Chorus

Well, little bugs have littler bugs
Upon their backs to bite ’em
And littler bugs have still littler bugs
And so ad infinitum

Chorus

As I went walking through the woods
Humming a tune so gaily
The wind come whistling through the trees
And froze my ukulele
