Book: I Don’t Want A Cool Cat!  by Emma Dodd

What kind of cat should she get?

Feltboard:  Kittens Lost Their Mittens
Make sets of two mittens. Place one mitten on the board. Pass out the second of the pair and call up the children to match to the mitten on the board.

Six little kittens,
They lost their mittens,
And they began to cry,
Oh, mother dear,
We sadly fear
Our mittens we have lost.
What! Lost your mittens,
You naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie.
Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow.
You shall have no pie.

The six little kittens,
They found their mittens,
And they began to cry,
Oh, mother dear,
See here, see here,
Our mittens we have found.
What! Found your mittens,
You darling kittens!
Then you shall have some pie.
Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow.
You shall have some pie.

Active Song: If You’re a Cat and You Know It

If you’re a cat and you know it, say “Meow!”
If you’re a cat and you know it, say “Meow!”
If you’re a cat and you know it, and you really want to show it,
If you’re a cat and you know it, say “Meow!”

Continue with other verses:
Lick your paws [pretend!]….
drink your milk…
give a purr…
swish your tail…
do a pounce…
