These are additions to the previous version of this program. The first version with different stations is at https://libraryfun.home.blog/2023/08/24/playing-with-stem-planets/
Hi Everyone! This program is called Playing with STEM. It is a STEM program for 2-5 year olds. It is primarily play, because at that age, I just want to make science, technology, engineering and math fun!
In this program we learned about planets and space. There were stations all around the room that the kids visit with their parents. Each station had a sign to give some instructions and a fun fact. Here are the planet stations:
Rocket Coloring
The children colored paper rockets, then added a dropper to the back. They launched them with air by blowing through a straw.

Robot Hand
The children used toy grabbers to pick up orange rocks (balled up paper) like a rover visiting Mars.

Moon Base Builder
The families used Duplo LEGOs to build a moon base.

Moon Craters
For this station the children dropped different meteors into flour covered with cocoa to see how real meteors effect the moon.

We had a great turnout for this program!
